Ani Delek Chodon

Ani Delek Chodon is from Dingri, Tibet, where her family of seven were farmers. She helped her parents by looking after cattle and was not able to go to school. She left Tibet at age 22 with the intention of becoming a nun. Her brother brought her to the border where she had relatives. It was a crowded situation, and she set out to meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Afterwards, relatives in Kathmandu recommended Tek Chok Ling. She couldn’t read Tibetan when she came, but now she can both read and write.
