Ani Jangchup Sangmo

My name is Jangchup Sangmo and I’m from Dolpa. I was born in 2004 and when I was young, my work was to look after sheep and goats. As a child I wanted to attend school in a village, but my family couldn’t send me to school. And my cousin brother brought me and my sister Tharlam Sangmo to Kathmandu and I got the opportunity to become a nun in 2013 with my little sister. Even though my parents couldn’t send us to school, they wished for a bright future and so they sent the two of us to the nunnery. Fortunately, I got an opportunity to study in SMD school which was founded by The Very Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche. In SMD school, they provide many facilities. SMD school is a place where I learned basic knowledge and continue to study for 10 years till now. I feel lucky to study in such a great school and meet beautiful teachers and school mates. And I know all these great opportunities are because of our Tsawai Lama (Root Guru) Khenchen Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche-la and all the great sponsors. During my free time I mostly spend my precious time by reading books and lately I’m learning some other activities too. I’m happy and grateful to have such a beautiful life in the nunnery. l love everything about my nunnery. I wish to spend the rest of my life with Rinpoche-la in Tek Chok Ling.
